Arc I Side Story 4: Shinjo's Utter Failure At Breaking Out Empty Arc I Side Story 4: Shinjo's Utter Failure At Breaking Out

Post by SSJRandomMaster Mon Feb 19, 2018 9:26 pm

Five days have passed since the RISING Unit's first official mission. Since then, the group had split up, tackling other tasks that they felt needed taken care of. As such, only a few members were on site. While this wouldn't be a problem under normal circumstances, they had seemingly forgotten about the man they had captured. He now resided in the second floor basement of the main base. Due to unforeseen circumstances, the...transfer, was taking longer than expected. However, it was to happen soon.

Of course, soldiers tended to talk and gossip since there wasn't much else to do but march and stand around. At least in fiction they tend to. Inevitably, news of "the transfer" reached the prisoner's cell. The soldiers, however, weren't concerned. The man seemed to be sleeping in that cell anyway...
-------------
Fluut, hands wrapped in bandages, sat in his room. There was a platform in the center of what could only be described as a fishing pond in the center of his room. The water was, for some reason, colored green, but only when it flowed in to the pool. The water that was coming in was the same earth water Fluut had seen all around. Actually... why was the water able to stay green... Eh, whatever.

He was still feeling a little sore from his previous training session, but it wasn't quite debilitating either. Right  now, calming his mind was more important. And so he continued to sit there, seemingly napping to anyone that might peek in on him.
-------------
Ryo was... asleep, at least for now. Moving on.

OOC: Positions have been established. TK can post if he  wishes to establish what Lusk is doing at the outset of the mission. Saskes, it's up to you what you wish to do. Once we've established everything, we can begin.

Arc I Side Story 4: Shinjo's Utter Failure At Breaking Out Empty Re: Arc I Side Story 4: Shinjo's Utter Failure At Breaking Out

Post by Anim8or55 Mon Feb 19, 2018 10:21 pm

Shinjo sat in his cell, silent, looking through the bars he could see two guards standing watch. And he knew that at least one other guard was stationed not too far away. He looked over and saw a clock, watching as the time clicked away. From listening in on the guards conversations when they thought he wasn't paying attention he learned that there were two days until his transfer.

Where he would be transferred too he didn't know, but right that was the last thing on his mind. He knew full well that he was in the enemies home base, its location being something of great value to his superior officers. But they would only be able to know it if he could relay it to them. And in order to accomplish this he could need to escape.

After waiting for days he had finally convinced himself to make his move. He stood up from his seat, taking a few steps forward before suddenly falling to his knees. The moment he fell the guards took notice, looking over in his direction. He had their attention, but now he needed them to come closer, so summoning his own will power he forced himself to vomit before falling over on his side.

"What happened?" one of the soldiers said as he and the other walked over to the cell. "Oi, can you hear me?" he asked from the other side of the bars. When he didn't answer the other guards let out a 'tt' before pulling out the keys.

"Come on." he said opening the door and letting the other in behind him. He knelled down beside Shinjo, lightly touching him to check for his condition. But the moment he did the soldier saw Shinjo turn his head and glare right at him. It was at that moment the soldier knew, he'd fucked up. But it was too late, and Shinjo had launched at him, successfully knocking him out.

Shinjo tried again for the other soldier, but he was prepared, able to side step out of the way and avoiding the attack. But Shinjo wasn't going to let up and followed after him, it was the soldiers own luck that allowed him to slip on Shinjo's vomit, the fall allowing him to dodge once more.

"Bastard!" he said firing three rounds at Shinjo, all three managing to hit their mark. But despite taking bullets from up close Shinjo didn't seem any worse for wear, only three visible bruises seen from the impact zones. The guard quickly got up, his aim still pointed at the captured soldier.

"You ain't going nowhere!"

Shinjo took 3 damage from the Burst of bullets! (HP 97 -> 94)
----------------------
Though the soldiers were well-trained, they were ill-equipped to deal with the ELA's forces. This is the primary reason the RISING Unit was formed in the first place. However, just one supersoldier should be enough for them, if an extreme challenge...

The three remaining soldiers on the floor looked at each other and nodded. If this man wanted to break out of the cell, they weren't letting him leave quietly. Shinjo could hear the sounds of clicking weapons as the guards trained their sights on him. This time, though, Shinjo was ready. Shinjo wove, moving between the salvo, the bullets just grazing the surface of his skin as he did so.

The soldiers abruptly stopped shooting, shocked.

"He was able to avoid the bullets!"

"Don't be surprised... He's just like the guys we support..."

The soldiers all attack Shinjo with machine gun fire, but Shinjo dodges!

Shinjo probably could have exited the cell, hoping for a larger area of combat, but the cramped space was where he needed to be. With every guard in that room now gathered in the cell with him, he had them exactly where he wanted. Even with their weapons drawn he charged directly towards them, the horde of guard opening fire on the sharking soldier.

Shinjo put up his guard, allowing more of the bullets to hit him, but he didn't slow down. He charged right passed the guards before him. "What the?!" one of the guard said turning around as quickly as he could. But once he'd faced the other direction he realized what his plan was.

Shinjo had run out of the cell room leaving the other guards inside, his hand already holding form on the bars as he glared back at them. "S-shit!" they attempted to react, but it was too late, and Shinjo slammed the bars shut in front of them.

And to make sure they couldn't follow Shinjo pulled back his fist and brought it forward with just enough force to smash the lock pad, effectively enduring it useless and leaving the guards locked inside. The guards stared in awe over what they had just experienced. This solder had bested them, and didn't need to take them out to do it.

"What happens next is because of your failure, let that eat away at you." Shinjo said before making a dash away from the cell and towards the stairs.

"Damn it!" one of the soldiers yelled, "He got us..."

"He may have got us, but he was better off taking us out first..." another said, already preparing his radio...
--------------------------------------
Fluut continued to calm his mind, readying himself for whatever his next task would be. There was time to relax, to unwind and--

The loud klaxons and sirens brought Fluut back down to Earth at an astonishing rate. Fluut looked up, knowing just enough to know what that meant.

"Something's gone wrong..." Fluut thought aloud, hopping across the water in his room and heading towards the area to investigate with some haste...
----------------
"The prisoner has escaped! This is not a drill! Repeat: this is not a drill!"

Ryo continued to sleep, surprisingly enough, despite the noise.
----------------
Shinjo traversed the stairwell, hearing the alarms and knowing now that the enemy knew. He wasn't going back in that cage if he could help it. And when he made it to the next floor, another hallway greeted him. Every single soldier--8 in all, was waiting for him, their guns trained on him...

"Open fire, boys!!" the soldiers said, and so they did, opening fire on Shinjo as soon as they saw him. The gunshots were loud, piercing through the air. Shinjo was caught off-guard, and mostly off-balance, the gunshots leaving all sorts of welts on his body, including a few that broke the skin mostly since they hit the areas that were already bruised anyway.

The soldiers open fire on Shinjo on sight, dealing 39 damage to Shinjo! (HP 85 -> 46)

The persistent gun fire was starting to wear thin on Shinjo, yes, he had his goal. But after having been struck with rapid fire time and again, he felt that he should blow off some steam. Bringing his arms down Shinjo's aura started to flair a bright golden hue. Some guards began to sweat in anticipation, watching as Shinjo brought back a fist while his Ki swirled around it.

Everything else happened faster than they could prepare as Shinjo charged forward, his attack hitting hard as it knocked multiple soldiers aside. When the dust had settled there was but one soldier remaining, bruised, shaking, and standing a mere inch away from Shinjo.

He tried to make a move, tried to point his gun back at Shinjo, but it wasn't happening. Shinjo grabbed the gun and moved it over, striking the soldier right in the face, knocking him back and unconscious. Shinjo took a moment to take note of his surroundings, seeing that there were none left standing. To say that he felt satisfied would be an understatement.

Looking over towards the next set of  stairs, Shinjo made his way to the next floor.

The exit was in sight, and from there Shinjo was going to make a break for freedom. However, just like last time, he was confronted with a small battalion of soldiers. Unlike last time, this time he had a couple of green guests to attend to.

Fluut and Lusk were waiting for him now, and they didn't seem all that happy to see him out and about.

Lusk's turn!

As the two arrived with the soldiers, Lusk looked at the young man before them. He'd noticed in their first meeting that Shinjo's appearance was far more hardened then his age should suggest, and now that fact weighed on him. How could he have become like this...

And why did he have to keep going now...

Still Lusk lept forward quickly, he still had to act, and he could restrain the man now before he was injured further. Bullets had recently torn into his body, the soldiers on base each being the best of the best.

As both arms reached out to pin the young man down however, they swept through thin air as Shinjo ducked away.

Lusk attempts to Grapple Shinjo, but fails! (16 Vs 15)

Lusk used his momentum to spin around, and before Shinjo could make distance launched a strong jab out. Thank's to the tall Namekians long arm, the blow connected against the humans cheek.

Lusk burns an AP (4 -> 3) to Punch Shinjo, who fails his Endure, inflicting 10 damage!(HP 46 -> 36)

But Shinjo cept on the move...

Fluut's turn!

Arc I Side Story 4: Shinjo's Utter Failure At Breaking Out Empty Re: Arc I Side Story 4: Shinjo's Utter Failure At Breaking Out

Post by SSJRandomMaster Tue Feb 20, 2018 12:56 am

Fluut cracked his knuckles, ready to keep the prisoner from escaping. Quickly, he moved to intercept the man’s trajectory, and managed to cut him off. Fluut leaned b ack, kicking out, but Shinjo parried the hit, stopping as Fluut clenched his fists. It was time to get going, and there was nothing else to be done. With a mighty yell, Fluut’s fists began to lash out, just like in training, streaking towards Shinjo with all the force Fluut could muster. Shinjo was left no way out other than to engage in the duel, fists meeting fists. Though Shinjo hadn’t managed to mimic Fluut’s technique as he had Arashi’s, it was still a sight to behold.

Loose furniture toppled as the two clashed. Fluut’s fists already began to leak as Fluut began to come down at Shinjo, who stubbornly kept clashing fists with fists as he did so. Fluut threw in a few kicks, but Shinjo kept blocking or parrying his hits, managing no worse for wear. Still, Fluut pressed on, and on, and on, Shinjo starting to sweat as Fluut pressed his attack hard. Fluut staggered for a moment, his barrage ceasing, Shinjo taking the opportunity to get back.

Not again… Fluut thought, his aura bursting to life as an almost alien feeling of rage overtook him, Not again!!!

Shinjo saw Fluut going for the attack yet again despite the state of his hands, and moved to dodge, but the side of his foot suddenly caught on a loose tile, and Shinjo staggered, grunting in surprise as the fists came at him.

He stood no chance against such a furious onslaught, especially with how good a job the soldiers had done—an almost supernaturally good job of doing so, in fact. Lusk realized what Fluut was doing, and horrified at the sudden brutality on display, pulled out his healing horn and put it to his mouth, understanding the fact very well…

The only thing Shinjo could hear over the sound of his own beating, was a song he may have heard somewhere before… And soon, sound wasn’t something he could experience…
------------------------
Fluut attacks Shinjo in a frenzy, burning 4 AP and 76 KP on his Furious Gatling spell. The first three miss, but the fourth hits, a critical hit! This would deal 126 damage, but Shinjo (perhaps aided by Lusk?) only takes 42 damage due to a crit endure! He still loses his HP (36 -> 0), but isn’t outright killed!
Battle over!
----------------------
The wrappings on his hands peeling away, all the skin having been battered off, Fluut could only look at the miraculously still alive Shinjo in wonder. Did he just… Where did that come from? He had intended to stop the man from escaping, not murder him outright… but his anger got the better of him…

Perhaps those thoughts in his head, that had plagued him from his training, had gotten to him…

Fluut panted in breath, ears ringing from his pumping heart, as a voice slowly transitioned back in to his attention.

"Fluut? Fluut!" Lusk's voice came in, just before Fluut was brushed aside by his tall friend. Fluut just made out his comrades rather horrified face. Soldiers funneled in around them as well, ready to keep Shinjo pinned with even more bullets if need be.

Lusk looked him the young man, beaten into a swollen purple-mess, and raised both palms to his chest, His Chiyujutsu came to life as he focused it on saving any internal organs that may have been ruptured from the impacts or broken bones. He expected the heartbeat to be weak, but it held steady. Firm. Lusk couldn't shake the feeling that if Shinjo had managed to stay conscious, he'd still be moving right now.

In a war filled with robots and mindless monsters, now the other side had those this driven to their cause?

Lusk turned his head to see what made him even more uncomfortable, the state of his friend Fluut. Remnants of some wrappings were wrapped around his bloody fists, which seemed to have been split before that mad rush at Shinjo, and Namekian gazed off to the side.

Under his breath he accidentally murmured what only Lusk could hear...

"Not...again..."

Arc I Side Story 4: Shinjo's Utter Failure At Breaking Out Empty Re: Arc I Side Story 4: Shinjo's Utter Failure At Breaking Out

Post by Anim8or55 Tue Feb 20, 2018 1:58 am

This marks the second time Shinjo had been hit so hard in the last week, and if he had to choose, the second was by far the most painful. With a groan Shinjo managed to open his eyes, just the action of turning his head being enough to make him regret it. But he pushed passed the pain, it wasn't something he was a stranger to. Through blurry eyes he looked around, this wasn't the same cell he was placed in as last time. It felt, colder, darker, like his captures were no longer taking him lightly.

He also too note that his arms were bound, a large mechanism keeping him from moving along with chains around his legs. And based off how he felt they were a little less considerate with the medical treatment, just enough to keep him stable, but not enough to allow him to move freely.

As the blurriness began to fade and Shinjo began to adapt to the darkness, he noticed a figure sitting legs crossed on the other side of his sell. One of the Namekian's, the one who didn't beat him within an inch of his life. He stared, his brow furrowed, as though disappointing in what he was seeing.

Once he was sure Shinjo was awake, he spoke.

"It didn't have to be this way..." But despite the look in his eyes, despite the total empathy in his voice. Shinjo's resolve, still seen in the human eyes did not wane. Though it hurt, Shinjo managed a responce.

"Who...are you trying...to convince?"

And thus, the botched escape draws to a close...
----------
Fluut sat and meditated in his room, overcome again. He was a rarity among his people, for sure. But never before had such animosity been his character, never before had he unleashed such brutality on another living creature. That was something he couldn't just let go. He was usually more collected than that. With the wrappings on his hands replaced, Fluut tried to once again banish the demons that threatened to swallow him alive...

Never... again...
------------------
Ryo, meanwhile, awoke, snapping awake as if he'd heard something.

"I miss something...?"
